EYFS weekly activity planner - Goldilocks and the three bears (includes free printable)

Welcome to this weeks weekly activity planner. Each week I will look at a new mini theme. This week we are looking at Goldilocks and the three bears.

There will be a link at the bottom of the post for you to print out this activity planner, I will also leave a link for you to print out a blank activity planner, as you may like to carry on doing work on the theme. (please see my Goldilocks and the three bears themed activity ideas post for more activity ideas)

The weekly activity planner sets out the morning and afternoon activities. If you are planning to do the activity for a certain child the feel free to put the child's initials in the box.

There is also a section which shows which area of learning and development you are concentrating on.

The last section is left blank for you to fill in. You can make simple notes as to how well the activity went, if the child/children understood the activity and were able to follow instruction etc.

We will now look more at the activities on the weekly activity planner.

Morning activity:

Read the story to the children, Can they describe the characters? Ask open ended questions to help children talk about the characters in detail.

Afternoon activity:

Create a story map. This is best done as a large group activity. Take a large piece of paper, preferably one that can be put on the floor and walked beside. Help children structure the story into the correct sections. Children can then walk along the story map and retell the story in their own words.

Morning activity:

Make some porridge oats play dough.Click here to find a recipe

Afternoon activity:

Make some puppets of Goldilocks and the three bears. You could use paper bags, card or wooden spoons.

Morning activity:

Threading around bear pictures. Use a hole punch to make holes in the picture.

Afternoon activity:

Discuss whether children would of gone into the three bears house. Discuss safety. Talk to children about safety and stranger danger.

Morning activity:

Make some character masks and act out the story.

Afternoon activity:

Write a letter to baby bear from Goldilocks apologising for breaking his chair. You could do this as a group activity for younger preschool children. Children could draw their own pictures to go with the letter.

Morning activity:

Find big, middle sized and small items. You could print out different sized props from the story or just use compare bears or other suitable toys.

Afternoon activity:

Set up the role play area as the three bears house. Include some dressing up items and character masks.

I hope you and your children enjoy the activities set out in the activity planner. Don't forget you can find more Goldilocks and the three bears themed activity ideas here..
